Diabetes Specialist (CDCES) and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) in Pasadena to Santa Barbara.
You don't need a diagnosis to want this figured out - you just need to eat, every day, for the rest of your life.

Whether you were referred by your medical team, or you're simply the kind of person who takes their health seriously and wants an expert in your corner, this is a good place to start.
You may already know what you're "supposed" to eat. I can help you understand what actually matters for your health, why it matters, and what to do with that information in everyday life.
I'm fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish -- to talk about food the way it's actually lived: family recipes, cultural context, the words that don't translate cleanly.
Dedicated and Private Nutrition Care for Diabetes, Optimal Nutrition, and Chronic Health Conditions
I'm Katherine! I'm a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). Diabetes is where I specialize, but I also help you nutritionally manage conditions that don't forgive guesswork: metabolic disorders, malnutrition, disordered eating, optimal growth, and related health concerns.
This isn't a scripted, algorithmic appointment. It starts with me asking what's actually going on for you, not a form and a lecture, and it stays that way.
Combined with my multicultural upbringing, these experiences have shaped my belief that there is rarely a single "right" way to eat. The best nutrition care respects your health, your culture, your values, and your everyday life while helping you move toward your goals.
Nutrition touches more of your health than you may realize.
Maybe it's the 3pm crash you've stopped questioning. The groceries that sat in the fridge while takeout won again. Reaching for whatever's fastest when hunger hits hard, then feeling bloated an hour later. Waking up tired, or not sleeping well, without knowing if it's too little food or too much. None of it happens all at once. It's a slow, quiet erosion, easy to miss until it's just how things are.
Being thoughtful about nutrition helps you maintain and protect how you feel and function, before those slow, quiet changes take it from you.
I'll help you understand what matters for you and focus on what's actually useful: not more rules, restrictions, or things to worry about. I spend the time digging through the research so you don't have to. Receive priority nutrition care that's tailored to you.

Diabetes & Metabolic Health
Lab values are only half the equation. The other half is knowing which meals get you there, and which ones are quietly working against you.
Children and Family
Every growth chart tells you where your child stands. Figuring out what to actually feed them is the harder part.
Weight Management
Whether you're trying to lose weight or gain it, the real work is the same: making sure your body is actually getting what it needs.
Complex Health
Your diagnosis came with a treatment plan. It didn't come with a way to actually get through dinner.
Nutrition, Ahead of Time
Think of it like working with a trainer for how you eat, so the years ahead feel like more of you, not less.
